da poker: Noel Whelan has suggested that Aston Villa put Jonathan Kodjia in the shop window against Liverpool, as reported by Football Insider.
What did he say?
da marjack bet: Kodjia was handed his first start of the campaign during the 5-0 thrashing of Liverpool, going on to score twice.
The first of those goals came when he released behind the defence by Jota before poking the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher, while he came up with a clinical finish for his second.

After the game, Whelan was quoted as saying: “It looks like Kodjia is leaving, in January or at the end of the season. He’s not got a new deal and Wesley is Dean Smith’s clear first choice.
“What Wednesday does is put Kodjia in the shop window. It shows he’s fit, scoring goals and ready to go into a team.
“He looked sharp against Liverpool and, even though it was against their kids, it probably bumps up the price a little bit as well.
“Villa certainly won’t want to let him go on the cheap. If anyone does sign him, they will get an excellent player who’s quick and can score goals.”
In clear view
Kodjia, who is rated at £3.6m on Transfermarkt, has a contract that comes to an end in the summer of 2020.
Wesley has been backed by Dean Smith this campaign, as highlighted by the fact that he’s been playing every game despite enduring a nine-game run without a single goal or assist.
This offers the indication that he will eventually be leaving, whether it is in January or the summer, so it is only natural that Villa will have wanted to get him in the view of prospective buyers.
