da gbg bet： Experienced referee Martin Atkinson will be the man in the middle when Newcastle United welcome Fulham to St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.
It is a huge game for both teams, with Fulham currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. Newcastle, meanwhile, will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins following their success at Huddersfield Town last weekend.
News that Atkinson will referee the affair has not been welcomed by the Newcastle fans, though.
Atkinson took charge of Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on the opening weekend of this season, and has shown 46 yellow cards and one red during his 15 matches in charge this term.
The 47-year-old, who will be assisted by Stephen Child, Gary Beswick and Jeremy Simpson, was actually the man in the middle when Newcastle beat Chelsea 3-0 in the final weekend of last season.
However, the Newcastle fans have reacted negatively to the news that Atkinson will referee Saturday’s affair:
