da prosport bet: Liverpool made a late move to secure the signature of Lucas Digne before he joined Barcelona, while Leicester’s Ben Chilwell is also a target, according to the Mirror’s David Anderson.
da betsul: The Reds have been linked with a host of left-backs this summer following Alberto Moreno’s erratic 24 months on Merseyside.
Although the Spaniard is seemingly highly-rated by Jurgen Klopp, he was criticised during Liverpool’s run to the Europa League final for his often wayward defending and was frequently overlooked in favour of Nathaniel Clyne in domestic action, even though that meant shifting the England man from his natural flank.
Indeed, Brendan Rodgers started the season with Moreno out of his XI, which followed speculation through the summer of 2015 that Lucas Digne was a target.
However, the Frenchman has nowÂsigned for Barcelona, but Anderson took to Twitter to reveal that Liverpool made a fresh approach for him before he joined the Catalans:
“Am told Liverpool made a fresh approach for Lucas Digne before he agreed to join Barcelona from PSG. Reds tried to sign him last summer.
“Am also told that Liverpool could have had him for less than the £16.7m paid by Barcelona.â€
Anderson then went on to state that Leicester youngster Chilwell is their preferred target:
“Liverpool were also looking at Ben Chilwell and decided to bid for him rather than Digne, although Leicester rejected their offer.â€
