Tottenham Hotspur may have ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions with a 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, but midfielder Christian Eriksen struggled to suggest that they should accept a big-money offer for the Dane from Paris Saint-Germain if it arrives in the future.
What’s the word, then?
Well, The Express reported last month that PSG were lining up a mega-money £100m move for the 26-year-old, who has been a key player for Spurs in recent seasons.
Eriksen has less than two years remaining onhis Tottenham contract and there is yet to be any progress made over him signing a new one – something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Ligue 1 giants according to The Express.
The report added that the French clubs are long-term admirers of the playmaker, although Mauricio Pochettino is understood to have told chairman Daniel Levy that he must not be sold.
Why should Tottenham cash in?
14 goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions last term show how good Eriksen can be on his day, but his form so far this season is certainly very worrying – even if like many of his teammates he performed at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal and provided a further two assists in six appearances in total, but he hasn’t been himself in recent weeks and hasn’t stood up when his side has needed him – he once again on the periphery on the south coast on Saturday, as shown by his match rating from Football.London.
The opportunity to potentially get £100m for a player that may not want to stay beyond 2020 is something that can’t be sniffed at unless his form dramatically improves before January, and Tottenham should cash in come the New Year if that doesn’t prove to be the case.
